Children whose health conditions are very fragile, such as those who have several conditions or long-term illnesses may benefit from the special medical and developmental support of our C5 program. We work with your child’s regular physician to make sure your child grows, develops and thrives. We also help your child with the move to adult medical care during the teenage years.

- Endoscopic evaluation – Esophagogastroduodenoscopy and Colonoscopy evaluation to be used if needed for evaluation of gastrointestinal pathologies
- Infusions – IV therapies such as Remicade are administered at the VMC Children’s Hospital P-Day Unit
- Liver biopsies – Completed at VMC with our Pediatric Radiologists, for our interpretation involved in the management of liver disease
- Nutrition Services – Dietician is available for consult, we are able to provide education and management for certain food allergies, poor weight gain, celiac disease

Services Provided:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- CBT is an evidenced based treatment that is used in counseling. The CBT process helps patients change patterns of behavior that are interfering with healthy functioning.
- Family Therapy- Family Therapy is a type of counseling that involves members of the family unit. The purpose is to improve communication and resolve conflicts, bringing family members closer together.
- Individual Counseling- Individual counseling is a process through which patients work one-on-one with a trained mental health clinician in a safe, caring, and confidential environment.
- Parenting Skills- Triple P – Positive Parenting Program ®- The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program ® is a parenting and family support system designed to prevent, as well as treat, behavioral and emotional problems in children and teenagers.
Mallory Savidge, MSW, LCSWA
Mallory is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree from East Carolina University in 2019 and her Master of Social Work degree from East Carolina University in 2020.
Mallory is experienced in working with children, teenagers, and young adults. She sees patients ages 5 to 18 who have experienced childhood trauma or are suffering from major life stressors resulting in anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and behavior problems. Additionally, Mallory serves parents and caregivers using the Family Systems Model which is something she is passionate about. Mallory is trained in the Primary Care Level 3 Positive Parenting Program, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills, and is in the process of obtaining EMDR certification. Mallory is dedicated to expanding her knowledge by self-researching and attending continuing education classes and trainings to deliver quality care to those most vulnerable and deserving.
Mallory’s therapeutic approaches include CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused, Family Systems, Strengths-Based, Person-Centered, and Mindfulness-Based. Mallory is extremely passionate about working with children and families, with a strong focus and commitment of empowering positive change, establishing healthy relationships, developing self-compassion, and enhancing overall quality of life and wellbeing.
To schedule with Mallory, please let your pediatrician know that you are interested in your child receiving counseling, and a referral will be placed. Once this occurs, you can expect a call within a few weeks from ECU Pediatrics with dates available for your child’s counseling appointment.
