ECU Physicians Imaging Services Division offers a variety of diagnostic imaging capabilities that supports our team in their quest to serve all your medical needs in our convenient friendly atmosphere.

MRI

ECU Physicians offers a state-of-the-art open Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner with a wide opening that offers patients a more comfortable, less-confined experience.

Our friendly, courteous and experienced staff make the patient experience easy and convenient through our flexible scheduling options and streamlined referral process. Scan times are short and provide detailed, high-quality images that can be viewed in our electronic health record system, EPIC. We also provide STAT reports for those instances when it is necessary to act quickly on the results.

We offer MRI of the brain, cervical spine, thoracic spine, lumbar spine, shoulders, knees, and ankles, as well as Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) of the arteries in the head and neck.

Bone Densitometry

ECU Physicians understands the importance of your overall health. Therefore, we offer bone densitometry, also known as DEXA/DXA or bone density scan, as part of our comprehensive imaging services division. Speak with your provider to determine if a bone density scan is right for you and let us schedule an appointment for you if you are a candidate.

Heart and Vascular Imaging

Our highly skilled Cardiology and Vascular teams provide comprehensive diagnostics under one roof. Heart and vascular imaging services include echocardiograms, vascular ultrasounds, nuclear imaging and CT scans which can be performed the same day as your office visit for added convenience.

At the East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU Imaging Center, we provide the most advanced, non-invasive diagnostic imaging services in our state-of-the-art facility. Our patients experience world class care in our comfortable, patient focused Imaging Center. All of our imaging departments are accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), ensuring our diagnostic imaging center is held to the highest standards of quality and patient care. Our Board Certified Cardiac and Vascular Imaging Physicians provide on-site study interpretations while our certified technologists ensure that your test is performed in a safe and accurate manner. Our imaging services include, Echocardiograms, Nuclear & Exercise Stress Tests, CT Scans, and Vascular Ultrasounds. Our “one stop” service model allows most imaging services to be performed on the same day as your office visit.
