Who are the Behavioral Health providers?
Our behavioral medicine team includes licensed professional clinicians and graduate student trainees in Health Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Education, and Social Work. Our team is specifically trained to provide behavioral healthcare services to patients in medical settings, working closely with other members of your healthcare team.
Who should see a Behavioral Health (BH) provider?
A BH provider helps when habits, behaviors, stress, worry, relationship challenges, or emotions about health or other life problems get in the way of a person’s daily life or health.
What kinds of health concerns do BH providers see?
BH providers can help you reduce or manage symptoms related to medical conditions such as:

- Sleep
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Chronic pain
- Stomach problems
- Depression
- Anxiety

The service is available to all patients of the Family Medicine Center as a part of good overall health care.
What should I expect when I see the BH provider?
You can expect the provider to ask questions about physical symptoms, emotions, behaviors, and how these might be related. You can expect integrated care (hyperlink to desc of this?) appointments to last about 20 minutes and behavioral medicine clinic appointments to last 45 minutes. The BH provider will have a working relationship with your doctor to best assist you with making changes to improve your emotional well-being and physical health.
